About Us

Hi — I’m Ellie. I’m a QTS Primary Teacher with eight years’ classroom experience and a Master’s in Education, and I’m utterly passionate about helping children discover the joy, confidence and power that come from becoming strong readers and writers.

I specialise in supporting Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils - whether that be for their 11+ exams, end of year 6 SATs or general reading progress - using structured, evidence-informed approaches that are warm, engaging and tailored to each child’s needs. Whether a child is struggling with fluency, decoding, vocabulary or comprehension, I create lessons that spark curiosity, build skills step-by-step and celebrate every success along the way.

At The Reading Gateway, I combine clear teaching strategies with lively, meaningful texts and activities designed to make English rewarding and relevant. My aim is not just to improve test scores but to help young readers and writers develop the resilience, confidence and love of stories and ideas that will serve them for life. If your child deserves patient, expert support that truly changes how they feel about English, I’d love to help them thrive.
